In Case You Thought That a Great CEO Doesn’t Make a World of Difference

This is a great story from 2014 that may have only caught the attention of those of us in Massachusetts. The Boston Globe awarded the Bostonian of the Year award to the employees of Market Basket for their determination to reinstate the benevolent CEO who was squeezed out of the family business. It is instructive on so many levels: culture, leadership, productivity, employee engagement, customer loyalty and the power of a unified workforce voice to make things happen. For sure, this story is an anomaly but instructive nonetheless.

As the article warns: CEO’s pay attention!
