Finally: A CEO Who Says That Parenting Made Her a Better Leader

I was so struck by this Corner Office (from the Sunday New York Times) column this week that I had to share it. Her upbringing and candor about being unprepared for the CEO role are refreshing, interesting and revealing. I can’t remember the last time that I read such an honest account of the journey to leadership. Add to that an unusual path from mathematics to management. Penny Herscher is a woman I’d like to meet!
